3 Female Police Officers Stripped, Beaten While On Duty


Three female police officers were attacked and stripped to the buff while on duty by residents of Ikpoba-Okha local government area of Edo State on Wednesday, November 19, 2014.

According to the Nation, the incident occurred when a landlady, identified as Mrs. Okebuse, called the police to arrest one of her tenants who was given a quit notice.

When police officers arrived the unnamed tenant demanded to take her bath before going to the police station.

The police officers did not allow the woman to prolong her water procedures and she immediately offered resistance. Angry locals joined the tenant who attacked the officers on duty; the scrimmage ended with all three women stripped naked and beaten black and blue.

They are currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital. The suspects were arrested; now they are waiting for trial. Speaking about the attack, the state’s Police Commissioner, Foluso Adebanjo, said the perpetrators would face the full wrath of the law.
